Title: Happiness

Text: Matthew 2: 1 – 10

Our scripture text gives us two different scenarios about the event surrounding the birth of Jesus.

Some were Glad                                      Matthew 2:10

Others were Sad                                       Matthew 2:3

Some came to Worship                Matthew 2:2

Others came to make War             Matthew 2:16

l. THE BIRTH OF HEAVEN’S CHILD

A. His birth was prophesied .

B. His birth was for the propitiation of our sins.

The term propitiation is to – “signify the means whereby sin is covered and remitted, that by Himself (Christ) alone the violated holiness and righteousness of God by man’s sin has been propitiated (satisfied)     Strong’s Expanded Dictionary of Bible Words, Nelson Press, p. 1149
