Ministry Leadership
Principle # 2
Leadership
skills are not something we have at birth. Over the years we learn and develop
into leaders mostly by trial and error. The phrase penned by Warren Wiersbe
years ago “The bumps are what you climb on” is certainly true of this ministry
leadership principle.
Principle # 2. Building relationships is one of
the most effective ways to do ministry.
Quality
ministry is built on the foundation of meaningful relationships. Beyond any
program or lesson you may be involved in, people will remember you more
than what you say. Did you show an interest in them personally? Do you seem
concerned about their struggles and difficulties?
When
individuals feel the love and interest you have for them, they will open their
heart to you and understand your message about God’s love much better. There is
no greater way to do that than to build healthy relationships with the people
given into your spiritual care.
